First Work Event: Success!

Organised my first event for the project team last night and it was a success! Most of them enjoyed the food, the drinks and especially the company~ There were so many people I finally get to see (because they usually work in a different site); enlarging my circle of work friends! Which would probably make work even more enjoyable.

Oh, how much I have grown... Last bad entry about work was 2 months ago! HEHE.

I also realise that being the organiser of an event really helps me break a lot of barriers I have; It is because I am the organiser, I make myself go around checking that everyone was okay... Unlike if I were just a guest, I would probably stick to my own circle of friends.

So... last night, it was a great success! Not only because the event was good, but also because I managed to step up and know more people from work. ^^

Also, I suggested 'Supply & Demand' because I really love love their food! Did not disappoint me last night; though it was not the best place for my MD. :(

Christmas With Lunch Kakis!

LET THE PARTY MONTH BEGIN!!! ☺



First Christmas party for 2015.
Yesterday, with the lunch kakis from work, at one of my favourite Italian restaurant - Supply & Demand X.

It was a night away from work, to unwind with good food in a nice ambience. We got pretty noisy during gift exchange though. A different side to each other apart from work - a more relaxed and happy side. (: Except for me, because I am always the same. Lol.

Here's us right after we finalize our gift exchange - explains the random pen on the table and tiny tissue torn out. Lol. We went with getting a generic gift within a budget, picking our number to determine the gift choosing sequence and..... the fun part - We get to steal gifts we want!

We took quite a number of pictures - 65! But, I've decided to just post more pictures with my face in it and leave the rest kept in my HDD. Helps speed up my blogging time. Lol.

I was the third on the line and picked the largest gift!

I've always wanted one since we threw the one we had.
Best part? THIS HAS A DIGITAL BANK! No more playing with paper money.

But wait... This celebration had a catch...


... People could totally steal your gifts if they like it!

I managed to skip this theft one time though, because she decide to pick something else until....

Hahaha, all these expressions we had.

That diffuser was from me. I loved the scent!

But dang it! Birgit's gift got stolen and she made up her mind to steal what was mine.


:((( Wasn't lucky to be the third one picking the gift.

But it's okay! I got to choose something else!
We also met up about 2 months later at Birgit's place to play that set of Monopoly. Hahaha. Fun times. It was like we were back to being kids trying to figure out how to play the game and trying to make each other bankrupt.


And I picked something red!
Secretly hoping it was a big red packet with cash in it! Hahahaha.

Obviously, cash isn't a gift.


BUT I WAS HAPPY WITH MY SECOND PICK!

As happy as when I first open to see the Monopoly. Heh! This card reader / USB drive is the coolest thing that existed back then for Android phone users! So convenient to transfer files. Especially for someone like me who does not like using the traditional way of plugging it directly to your laptop (and charge your phone -.-). I am still using this handy device till date! ☺ Loving the large disk space too!



And, I've decided.... For memory sake! Here are what the others got for Christmas yesterday too! :)

Dim Sum Dollies: The History Of Singapore Part 1

The sibei white face when you first come out of the house. LOL.
My parents will ALWAYS comment that my face 超级白 (super white) when I first exit my bedroom after making up, and I have to always repeat that the makeup will oxidize once we exit the house and when I sweat before slowly becoming natural.... Is it just me that the makeup works like that? Lol.

Anyway, I digress from the start.... xD



DIM SUM DOLLIES X : THE HISTORY OF SINGAPORE (PART 1)


After searching high high and low low for someone to watch it with me, I successfully begged got someone!! Haniza, my new and only go-to-friend for any theatre shows / musicals. HEH.

I cannot tell you how happy I was when Haniza finally agreed to catch the comedy with me... But, after getting the tickets, I amost immediately started worrying that she won't like it...... I was afraid this would spoil her impression. Lol. This show is probably her first(?) local comedy and I definitely did not want her to have any negative impressions... I'm confident that Dim Sum Dollies won't disappoint, but all these are subjective. Some people likes certain stuff while some other may just hate the same thing.

FORTUNATELY, she enjoyed the show and agreed to watch Part 2 together. HEHEHEHE. We definitely had many laughing moments and I was glad I went with Haniza because she could explain some of the stuff to me... Like 'SPGs'! Now, my parents also know it too. xD

We really enjoyed the show. Money well spent!
The stage and props were pretty elaborate, something expectable from Dim Sum Dollies. Hmmm... To be honest, I have only recently (2 years?) become a fan of Dim Sum Dollies and do not know that much of how they really are...... But I know these big costumes and bright displays are their 'signature'.

ANYWAY! I have to embarrassingly admit that there were actually a few things about our history I first came to know during the show. >< /failedSingaporean

There was also this act where they sang a tribute to 'LucKY'. I felt a little emotional halfway through.. The song was simple, but nice. This first half of the year is such an emotional one for many. :/

AND SO, I cannot wait for part 2. I wonder if there are more things about Singapore that I do not know....

I know I should be asleep right now because there's work tomorrow... But, I'm feeling very happy tonight and I don't want to sleep it off yet. I’m going to try making this short (not) because there’s work tomorrow and I’ve decided to not take ‘birthday’ leave to save my ALs for other upcoming trips.. A small sacrifice for the bigger picture (CRUISING TO TOKYO IS SO SO SO NEAR NOW). Heh.

I had a really great time with my girlfriends (I miss Karena a lot a lot!) tonight just spending the evening together. :) Didn't get the guys to join this time because I didn't started out with any plan actually. :X Is age catching up? It feels like I get lazier to make plans on my birthday as the year goes by......

I'm glad to befriend many sweet sweet people in this life though; and have many (going to) celebrations of my aging. LOL.

There were no fancy planning this year. We just met up, did our usual camwhoring, had dinner, ate cake, took more pictures and then separated for home.

It was that simple.

But it was something we haven't done together for a long time and I ENJOYED EVERY MILLISECOND OF IT!!!! :D EVERY.MILLISECOND!

Evening started out a little sluggish for me. Was up early for 2 workout classes with Haniza before rushing home to prepare and head out to meet the girls for some shopping before dinner. I don't remember we did much shopping though. Lol. Rather quickly proceeded to Esplanade station and took pictures along the way to Esplanade.

I love that... walkway! There's always different displays up and it has great lighting for camwhoring! With or without an audience, I've always liked wasting some time there taking a few shots. XD

Walked out and was still a little too early for dinner. Took the chance to take more pictures together!

Dinner was delicious as usual. Supply and Demand has not disappointed me or my friends as yet. And this is probably my........ third time? Kesslyn joined us not long later and we had a really enjoyable dinner. Girls doing what we do best (other than camwhoring) was talking, chatting, and gossiping!

THERE CAME NOT ONE, NOT TWO, BUT FIVE CRÊPE CAKES!!!! 🎂


I'm a huge pastry fan; loves any kind of desserts, cakes 🎂 and whatnot. And to me, a birthday celebration has to have a birthday cake 🎂！！! It's symbolic. Not only is it a chance to cheat a diet, it makes birthdays more meaningful! Of course, people now can buy any cakes 🎂 any time they want... But birthday cakes 🎂 have candles and, you make birthday wishes before blowing them off! It's special. Otherwise, any kind of celebration can fall flat because it ends up being just another dinner....... So... cakes cakes cakes! 🎂

Imagine how happy I was inside when the cakes 🎂 were served!!! :D

Special thanks to Kesslyn for getting them while rushing down to meet us. hehe.

It was very soon dark outside when we were done with dinner... Almost 9pm? But the night was relatively young as the floating platform area had a carnival! So many nostalgic games (bumper cars!!!, small carousel and banana boat). We have grown too much too old for all these though. End up just checking things out and taking pictures.
