Dim Sum Dollies: The History Of Singapore Part 1

The sibei white face when you first come out of the house. LOL.
My parents will ALWAYS comment that my face 超级白 (super white) when I first exit my bedroom after making up, and I have to always repeat that the makeup will oxidize once we exit the house and when I sweat before slowly becoming natural.... Is it just me that the makeup works like that? Lol.

Anyway, I digress from the start.... xD



DIM SUM DOLLIES X : THE HISTORY OF SINGAPORE (PART 1)


After searching high high and low low for someone to watch it with me, I successfully begged got someone!! Haniza, my new and only go-to-friend for any theatre shows / musicals. HEH.

I cannot tell you how happy I was when Haniza finally agreed to catch the comedy with me... But, after getting the tickets, I amost immediately started worrying that she won't like it...... I was afraid this would spoil her impression. Lol. This show is probably her first(?) local comedy and I definitely did not want her to have any negative impressions... I'm confident that Dim Sum Dollies won't disappoint, but all these are subjective. Some people likes certain stuff while some other may just hate the same thing.

FORTUNATELY, she enjoyed the show and agreed to watch Part 2 together. HEHEHEHE. We definitely had many laughing moments and I was glad I went with Haniza because she could explain some of the stuff to me... Like 'SPGs'! Now, my parents also know it too. xD

We really enjoyed the show. Money well spent!
The stage and props were pretty elaborate, something expectable from Dim Sum Dollies. Hmmm... To be honest, I have only recently (2 years?) become a fan of Dim Sum Dollies and do not know that much of how they really are...... But I know these big costumes and bright displays are their 'signature'.

ANYWAY! I have to embarrassingly admit that there were actually a few things about our history I first came to know during the show. >< /failedSingaporean

There was also this act where they sang a tribute to 'LucKY'. I felt a little emotional halfway through.. The song was simple, but nice. This first half of the year is such an emotional one for many. :/

AND SO, I cannot wait for part 2. I wonder if there are more things about Singapore that I do not know....

Happy Ever Laughter!

Had an extremely good laugh for, approximately, 150 minutes with the family last night. All 13 comedians were hilarious!! It's been a while since I've laughed so hard till my hip and head hurt so so so bad. It was really quite bad, but the pain was all worthwhile. lol.

I was especially looking forward to Mark Lee's act because I never thought he'll be doing something like this... Especially in English. Not bad for a first timer though! Adrian Pang was really funny too... &I'm going to repeat what I blogged last year about Gurmit Singh..... It's weird listening to Adrian Pang cuss also! But I guess it makes his act a lot more funny and refreshing. When will we ever get to hear these actors cuss and swear, right? lol.

It's our second time going for "Happy Ever Laughter" and I hope it'll become an annual thing for the family! To have a good laugh together. ^^

I'm also really glad that my sister and I paid for the tickets this time. NO CHEAPEST TICKETS and watch them from too far away. It is somewhat true that visuals isn't that important for standup comedies........... But it makes the entire experience a lot more enjoyable! Being able to see them a little closer is so much better than trying to make up their expressions because we're too freaking far from the stage. =,=

We were looking forward to Kumar's jokes the most. But for me.... His act kindda fell flat. :/ Isn't as funny as his other acts we've watched in the past. Maybe because the rest were really good this time? Like... really really good.

I really loved the jokes by Pam Oei, Judee Tan, Sebastian Tan, Siti Khalijah (seriously her kakak song!!!! lolol) and Rishi~~ Of course, everyone else were as good! Just that these five stood out the most for me... And Kumar's not one of them. :/ It could also be due to my exhaustion. Since Kumar was the last comedian, I kindda got too tired. Lol.



Anyhow,,, it was still a fantastic night out with the family.
We all had an extremely good time laughing and exercising our abdomen muscles. Lol.


The meaning to life is to find joy in it. No matter what adversity we face, it's always good to take life a little lightly. We only live once.

Crazier, funnier and even better than last year's!!

Would say I got a little bored last year with the unfamiliar Christmas Music and a little too much singing (probably why I didn't even blog about it!) but this year it was fantastic!

Happy that the DimSum Dollies are back!

So many many random references especially Korean stuffs.
'Girls Regeneration' was cute.
Lady Ba Ba, Beyoncewuse and Siao Gina(Supposedly Rihana) were hilarious!!!!

There was even SHINee's 'Ring Ding Dong'!!!!!!!!!
Super duper cute.
Pity my mum booked family friendly slots..........
No Kumar. T^T Else, it would have been perfect with his dirty jokes! xD


One thing bad about the show from our seats, the lights were TOO GLARING!!!
For effects, they kept shining it at one point and we couldn't see a thing. :(((

Could have gone for a better seat but my mother beat us to buying the tickets! D:
It's okay though, because my sister and I shared to treat le parents with "Happy Ever Laughter" tickets. GOOD SEATS. bwahhahahahha.

Though this is only our second year going for Crazy Christmas, I do hope it'll become some sort of family tradition for us.
Even if we don't celebrate Christmas, at least there'll be this show we'll all be looking forward to! :D

After the show, we headed down to ninethirty for tea break!

Birthdays, Raya, Parties and Supper!!!

The past 6 days has been pretty awesome!!! Amidst all the project rushing and going crazy for school, there were birthdays, raya visiting, parties and random supper session with friends. :3 It's probably one of the most rushy, busy and bad-timing week ever! Lol. Imagine having to focus on projects and when you finally settle down, it's time to prepare to head out and have fun. lol. Still, it's been a great week.

But of course, I seriously hope that I'll still be able to score well for the assignments due in 4 days time. >,> May the writers' block be gone after this short (hopefully!) entry.

HOSSAN LEONG IS REALLY FUNNY!!!

Something different from the previous Kumar shows we've been to~ He did quite a number of random things and yes, they are really random! He even pole danced, became an alien, cross dressed as some spa lady, sang a random song mixed with many random songs (lol!!!) and he gave away quite a number of prizes!!!!! Most importantly~~~ He did "Oppa Gangnam Style" :O lol.. I like it when he sang live though. So cool.

THURSDAY NIGHT!

Rushed down to Yingling's place after school but was still the earliest to reach (tsktsk) and waited for about an hour for Emily Guan and Fredrick! Was famished! But thank goodness delivery was pretty fast... Got a shock with the amount of food we oredered for 6 people though. :O We were probably crazy.
