today is the last day of the summer camp at republic poly but it sure is the best day for me. maybe it's because i had enough sleep last night and i'm a bit myself today. was rather hyper participating in eveything.
again, we were re-arranged to different groups other different team leaders and today i've got ariel! hahas.
i prefer ariel as a team leader, at least he bothers to remember our names and you know, talk to me. hahas. it's a pity that i didn't had a chance to be under amir, jiaxuan's team leader for the first and last day of camp. heard from many people that he's sort of the best because he does blend in and join in every fun. also can see that he really gets into his different assigned group.
anyway, first thing in the morning today we headed to smart lecture for the first session of our last workshop. Micromedia FLASH! yeahs! today, i've re-learn it and i think i'm better at doing animations already all thanks to ariel for being the first team leader that our team had to sit infront, the first row, no choice but to listen to the speaker. still, it's interesting.
maybe it's really due to my sufficient sleep i had last night that i enjoyed today because i started to interact with everyone in the group but it's a pity that i'm a bit too late to enjoy the fun. after having lecture, we went to have our morning tea. then, it was more lecturing again. hahas. but this time, we didn't really had lectures, we had to accomplish this task given to us: to do a mascot for our team. the theme for today's team name is underwater world and my team came up with ariel because it's a name of a mermaid. ariel's in charge of ariel. hahas. no wonder i didn't hear ariel calling our group name like he use to the past two days.
anyway, after trying real hard to finish the mascot, which we end up not finishing, we had to go for games: finding nemo. a very interesting game somewhat similar to amazing race. well, it goes like this. each groups are given a person to look for in only four boundaries (their canteen, RPC-republic poly center, corridor along RPC and agony). these four people are allowed to run aroung these four boundaries and also hide to prevent us from finding them. then, after we have looked for the respective person, we have to answer a question before being given a card which hints us to the other person. in total, there are four people for us to look for and trust me, it sounds easy but the running and thinking really makes it challenging enough.
after finding nemo, we rested and have lunch (the best for the three days) which i still can't seem to finish. hahs! then, it was lan gaming. didn't look forward to it at first but when the smart lecture was drawing near, i started to feel the urge to get right in and start playing! hahas. thank god there were people there to help and guess what? they were all guys. they were sort of suppose to promote their CCA (like weblog). for once, i started to play lan games on laptop! hahas. but sad that it's CS and d0ta. really wanna find what's so interesting about d0ta. anyway, thanks to this guy who helped me throughout the game telling me when to buy weapons and where to plant the bomb, how to do it and so on. five girls versus five boys but the girls seriously trashed the guys!! woohoo! girls scored 11 and the boys scored 5. hahas. anyway, really have to thank the guy who keep helping me. i wasn't playing much attention because scary movie 4 was being played for the sake of those who were really not interested and i kept getting stuck at one spot. he was there and he really encouraged me. said that i did a good job even when i think it's okay. hahas. THANK YOU!! =] he won't even know anyway. hahas.
okay after lan game, we were suppose to get changed to play another game which most people has guessed, water games. okay, it's game and games. hahas. i changed my shoes to slippers and got ready. waited and got to this grass patch to play dog-and-bone talk about looking forward at it really makes me feel stupid. hahas. i kindda forgot how to play so when amir called my number first, i was sort of blurr. hahas. at first, no water was involved but the team leaders came and most of the guys were drenched especially admond. hahas. the first who made me wet was samuel. he was holding on to two of the shooting water thingy (which i can't remember what's it called now) and i thought he won't shoot just yet but he swing that thing and water was shot directly across my NECK! gosh. hahas. that was only the start. amir started to call numbers and everyone played their hearts out, girls screaming and boys grumbling when people are not paying attention (i was one of them most of the time).
the game went on successfully and i guess eveyone really had fun but the end of the game was only the start of revenge! hahas. most of the guys started to throw water bombs they had at the team leaders and everyone was running around the grass patch. hahas. me and jiaxuan were both wet, like when it's drizzling and we get a bit of it, but ella sprayed water on us when we were washing our dirty feets in the toilet and i got half wet AGAIN! hahas. went to change then came back to smart lecture room to wait and go for our last afternoon tea break.
after filling our stomachs, we headed back to smart lecture hall for the last debrief, last prize presentation but first and also last group photo session. sure this camp is not a waste of time. took plenty of photos and had lots of fun laughing at the videos samuel (another sam that is, this is the photographer) and amir had created. poor samuel who stayed up till 0330hrs last night to complete it. =] amir's video was hilarious with the last video clip about how his team had to sing, move thier hands, head and butt all at the same time. hahas. jiaxuan was inside and i really had a great laugh! hahas. (she's gonna kill me for this). sam's video was more of memorable and i heard that mirah cried as the song was being played: "the graduation song by vitamin C". aww~ i'll miss the fun and all.
ohh yeahs, our team was the winner for the mascot. yeahs! for three days, i've got the prize for all the task (except for improving the blogskin in day 1) and of course with the great help from my team mates! hahas. well, the reason why we won this round was because of ARIEL who gave us an idea to deal with mermaid ariel! confusing? hahas. dabriel drew out a body of a mermaid and the other team mates (excluding me) helped out by modifying ariel's picture and dabriel connect those two parts together. we really struggled to animate the pretty Ariel the mermaid but we sort of fail due to the time constrain. lucky it still look decent. hahas.
we won for being creative and original. hahas.
what i really learn from this camp is really not to under estimate people. you may be the best in your group but you may only be a noob if exposed to international groups. also, i've learn how to be more out-spoken (i know i've learn this a thousand times, just bare with me. (: ). this camp exposed me to even better people. it has also made me understand how a lecturer is important to score in an exam other than the interest. ohh yeahs! i've also learn that when we are given a task to do, it's better not to be too focussed minor details or else the project of task won't be completed perfectly or at least near to perfect because the major details could be left out.
hope there are more courses and/or camps in Republic Poly again. i will never hesitate to participate unless it's related to science.. or maybe, i could just join in the fun without even having to pay attention! hahas. really love the school. so nice clean and totally refreshing! lols.
gosh, there's another course on programming tomorrow at SMU. i guess i ought to get some rest. buh bye!
