HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR !
It's going to be a very long post, so please read only when you're very very very very very very very free and is desperate for something stupid to do. (;
I know, I look a little kuku. LOL.
Anyway, this year's Lunar New Year has been great - despite my initial complain about how it doesn't feel like CNY because I'm too free.
Maybe it's the festive season and the festive mood that comes with it. This year, I'm very very enthusiastic and happy. (= Or, maybe it's because I have been celebrating for the past four days, including today! And, maybe it's because this holiday season is four days long (:
First up, Reunion Dinner!
Before the dinner, did some chores at home ; was a little disturbed by some rude morons but because it was New Year's Eve, I kept quiet and tolerated the rude treatment.
As usual, my mother's the chef.
This year, it's not the usual steamboat - no Yusheng too but just casual food...
The Star of the night, Tempura (prawn).
Yummy ribs with Honey sauce.
I don't know what's this. xD
Some vegetable.
And... The Curry we had for breafast and lunch ! zzZ
Well, the food wasn't the key to the dinner but the reunion. I don't know what got into me but I was very very high during dinner ; teasing my uncle, asking everyone to move chairs and tables and serving the food. (i don't usually do this in the previous years)
Then, watched TV as a family before sending some tired Uncles home. Continued TV-ing and watched countdown as usual. Straight after countdown, Grandma gave us red packets to sleep on. ^^ I'm an obedient girl, I slip all red packets I've received without opening for like 3 days under my pillow! hahaha~
Everyone turned in early this year. ):
Except for me. -.- I haven't been sleeping much for the past three nights. I don't know why but I wake up i the middle of the night ad find myself having difficulties coaxing myself back to sleep. )=
Next, Day one!
Started receiving father-side relatives, wished everyone who came 'Happy New Year', collected red pakets, did my best to be a good host, took pictures as a family and left for our one and only visit for the day. (=
Because I don't think any of my family member wants to be in my blog post, I've decided not to post up the family pictures. Anyhow, this year is my first time taking a full family protrait with almost everyone's presence - we were only lacking my Aunt's family (my Aunt was there though, it was said that she divorced her husband).
On the way to my Granddad's elder sister house.
My baby cousin !
At home...
In my relative's house...
Was a little bored so left the house early for home. Did the usual stuffs, dinner and stuff, and went to bed.
Next, Day two !
Usually, we would pay a visit in my grandmother's house first thing in the afternoon. But this year, we went to my second Uncle's house for lunch before heading to her house.
Lunch was great. Grandmother's house is filled with New Year goodies, as usual. My favourite is still the Mandarine Orange! xD Anyway, my mother didn't get much New Year Goodies this time because I told her not to. LOL ! Save the money - we seldom eat them anyway.
Despite having goodies, the house was really empty. My Uncle and his family went over to Malaysia so as to pay a visit to my Aunt's house.
Alright, too much unwanted details...
Afterwhich, we went home for dinner ; received a complimentary meal fro Pizza Hut at 9pm because of the 3 hour late delivery. Also, we played Mahjong.
Drat! I lost 3 bucks. )=
Lastly, Day three !
Had everything planned.
Had breakfast cum. lunch at this really really nice restaurant, the one that specialises in Bird Nest, in OG around Orchard.
Very nice ambience, very good food. But, that is only if you agree with "Quality comes before Quantity." (: The service there was also very very good.
Was a little affected by something but got over it because I have to admit that I tend to be a little over regarding things like that. However, I really hope they understand....
Shopped a while in OG, since there were like sales everywhere.
Speaking of sales... *heartache
A month before CNY, I bought this FILA Polo Tee at $25
then, a week before CNY, there was a sale and it was sold at a price of $18.80
the worst is, now it's only $12. =.=
A 13 bucks difference....
Wanted to get a vest from Dorothy Perkins (mum wanted to buy it for me since it was cheap and worth the price) but end up not getting it ;
Soohou said it would look good on me but after considering, I don't know where I would where it to, when it would be on me and which shirt should I match it with. LOL ! To save the trouble, I decided to not purchase it anyway. (:
After lunch, we headed to Plaza Sing for a little shopping to kill time before watching our movie.
Alright, it's not a very good movie because the storyline was a little... bland.. I got bored almost halfway through. However, I have to admit that the movie's hilarious. If you wanna have a good laugh, this is the movie to watch ; provided you don't detest Mark Lee because he was the only highlight in the movie. Mark Lee was the Sissy yet very Man Dancer. There were also some funny scences on and off though.
Because Singapore's RainTree has collaborated with Malaysia's Double Vision, the whole movie is done in Malaysia so, you would find the act of gangsterism a little over- you have to admit that the fighting scences are seldom seen in Sg.
The whole movie is practically in dialect. So, if you want to wait for Mediacorp to show it on TV, it won't be as nice because the whole movie would prolly be in Chinese.
Have to understand how we're going towards "Chinese Cool" that kindda thing.
To me, it's not worth $9.50 but $6 (is the weekday cost 6??).
I'll rate this movie 4 star (if it's against 5) credits to Mark Lee !
Okayy, enough of the movie ; I'm not paid to advertise it anyway. xD
Before the movie (around 4pm), my mother received a call from my god-mother saying that they are coming for a visit. A very last minute thingy. -.- So, after movie, we went to look for them before bringing them for Dinner. Brought them over to my house, sat around to watch TV and chit chat before sending them off around... Midnight? Can't blame them, they have to get back to Malaysia for my god-mum's daughter is going to Taibei ~ (=
Unnessary details again...
Okayy. So, I'm suppose to expect more guest today. Uncle, Aunty Teo and Aunty Peggy ! It's so nice to see my childhood friends again! & of course, my uncle. ^^
**Drat! I've got school tomorrow ! )=
